Twitter direct messages – now character limit free!

While one of Twitter users’ biggest complaints is the character limit on tweets, Twitter is in the process of trying to ease the pain. Twitter plans to remove the character limit from their direct message feature and are currently implementing this change across all mobile and desktop devices.

Long gone are the days of the 140 characters for direct message. Now, there is a new maximum of 10,000. This is just one change in a series of changes Twitter has been executing since June. The company is also allowing group messages and a user now has the option of receiving a direct message from anyone. Twitter is attempting to up their appeal following months of slow user growth and following questions about the company’s longevity.
